Funerals

If you wish to enquire about a funeral service or internment of ashes at St Mary Magdalene's Church, or would like a member of the clergy to officiate at your funeral at the crematorium, please consult your appointed Funeral Director in the first instance.

As part of the Church of England, our clergy are more than happy to take funerals in Church, at the Crematorium or in a Cemetery.  Our clergy also provide pastoral care for the bereaved.  We currently have an annual memorial service in November.

A prayer for those who have died and those who are bereaved
Eternal God, our maker and redeemer,
grant us, with all the faithful departed,
the sure benefits of your Son’s saving passion
and glorious resurrection
that, in the last day,
when you gather up all things in Christ,
we may with them enjoy the fullness of your promises;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.  Amen.
