St. Mary Magdalene's
Having celebrated it's 125th Anniversary in 2014, St. Mary Magdalene's stands on the junction of Ribbleton Avenue and Farrindon Lane. The Church was originally designed by R. Knill Freeman with additions added by Austin and Paley in 1901 and 1938-41.
The inspiration to build St. Mary Magdalene's came from a local lady named Mrs. Park who firstly set up a school for the poor of Ribbleton (now the Church Hall) and later the Church. It is safe to say that Mrs. Park, who lived in Ribbleton at a time when the maximum number of residents were 1,000, could never have envisaged the Parish Church of Ribbleton catering for the needs of the now 27,500 residents in the parish.
The Church building boasts many beautiful architectural features including stunning stained class windows and a beautiful wooden screen depicting Jesus the Good Shepherd. The Church has a Lady Chapel and a Good Shepherd Chapel.
Sunday Services:
11am - Sung Eucharist with sermon
Week Day Services:
Wednesday 10am - Said Eucharist (in the Lady Chapel)
